Lexus Reveals the 2015 NX Turbo and 2015 NX Hybrid compact crossover
The all-new Lexus NX compact crossover launches with two powertrains:
a gasoline turbo NX 200t and a hybrid NX 300h.

The NX is designed with enhanced agility—plus a bold, eye-catching exterior defined by a low profile and unique roofline. As with all Lexus vehicles, sophisticated exterior styling starts with the spindle grille. LED headlamps and daytime running lamps contribute to the vehicles’ bold look. The front and rear wheel arches add to the NX’s wide, low, athletic stance with bold flares and standard 17-inch or available 18-inch wheels. The prof le is accentuated by a roofline peak toward the back of the vehicle, creating a tight silhouette and providing plenty of headroom for rear-seat occupants. Subtle, luxury details include an innovative door handle with a hidden key barrel and integrated lighting. There is also a new exterior color—Eminent White Pearl—that features a 6-coat/4-bake with two different mica bases, each with a different density and pigment orientation. This coating method emphasizes the granular quality of the paint, helping achieve a more 3-D exterior color. On the vehicle, bright highlights are emphasized from a direct-light viewing angle, and more pronounced shadows are seen when viewed in the shade.

Paint color codes and names include:

  • 085 Eminent White Pearl
  • 1J7 Atomic Silver
  • 1H9 Nebula Gray Pearl
  • 212 Obsidian
  • 3R1 Matador Red Mica
  • 4V3 Fire Agate Pearl
  • 8W3 Meteor Blue Mica
  • 8U1 Ultrasonic Blue Mica (F SPORT Model)
  • 1J4 Silver Lining Metallic

The NX also features self-restoring, anti-scratch clear coat paint, designed to resist damage and recover from deformation. The coating is softer and more elastic than standard protective coats, allowing it to recover from deformation by springing back into place. The anti-scratch layer also contains a high-performance macromolecule polymer that uses nanotechnology to maintain the appearance of the coating. Long-term maintenance of the layer’s anti-scratch properties, gloss and color are controlled at the molecular level.

The NX cabin blends the structural beauty of a high-performance machine with luxury materials maximizing functionality. Hard metallic surfaces contrast with soft materials for the unique interior. A striking, center silver frame surrounds and defines the center instrument panel. Seating plays a significant role in cabin design, with a low hip point that facilitates the driver/vehicle connection. Kneepads at the base of the center stack help provide comfort to and passenger.

NX introduces an innovative all-new 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine in the NX 200t. Also offered—the highly efficient hybrid NX 300h. An array of exciting on-board technology includes an available wireless charging tray for compatible phones and devices—plus the first application of the new Lexus Remote Touch Interface with touch pad. This is a multi-information display that includes a Lexus-first G sensor and boost meter, available heads-up display, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, and blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert.

The NX is designed for responsive driving, easy handling, turning posture and ride comfort—plus yaw rate response to steering input and control on uneven road surfaces. The foundation for the vehicle’s sophisticated suspension is a highly rigid body with extensive underbody reinforcement.

NX F SPORT models feature newly developed performance dampers that help enhance handling and control. F SPORT exclusives include a mesh grille insert, bold front bumper, machined-finish wheels, black exterior mirrors, interior ornamentation, paddle shifters, and sport seats.

When removing the front bumper, rem oval of the front fender molding is necessary to perform the repair properly.
